Kitbashing refers to designing models using the pre-built assets in the Core editor. For this tutorial, we are looking for experienced kitbashers to share their knowledge and techniques for building awesome models in Core. The goal is to teach other creators to improve their modeling skills, so they can reach that next level of expertise.
Some topics to consider for the tutorial are listed below.
How do you come up with ideas and concepts for your designs?
What things do you do prior to building? Do you use reference images or concept art as a guide?
Modeling Process & Strategy
Describe how you go about building great looking models in Core. How do you start, iterate, and polish the design?
Explain how to add lighting, and what role it plays in the design.
Effects & Sounds
Describe the use of visual and sound effects in your design.
Detail how movement or animations can be added using scripts, such as the built-in movement components. This should be easy to understand for non-programmers.
Publish a tutorial on this topic to the Core forums as per the instructions in your application acceptance message.
Provide any tutorial assets (models, scripts, UI, etc) in an editable public game, and include the game link within the tutorial.
Your work will be judged based on the Judging Criteria.
