The goal of this tutorial is to teach creators on how to design great looking skyboxes for their games. A skybox is basically the sky within a game including elements such as sky colors, lighting, clouds, sun, and stars. Additional components such as environmental and post processing effects can also be added.
Some topics to consider for the tutorial are listed below.
How do you come up with ideas and concepts for a skybox?
Do you use reference images or concept art as a guide?
Describe your process when building a skybox.
What makes a good skybox or a bad skybox? A great skybox can make all the difference in a game, while a bad skybox can look and feel totally wrong.
Explain how to use the various sky components.
Describe how to use the adjustment volumes to effect the sky and atmosphere.
Detail how to use those post processing effects which affect the sky.
