The pre-built frameworks that come with Core can be a bit overwhelming and difficult to understand for those new to Core. The goal of this challenge is to walk through a framework and explain how things work and fit together. The tutorial should be easy to understand and written for the beginning skill level.

Once completed, creators should have a good understanding of the framework, and should feel comfortable customizing the framework for their game.

Some of the topics to consider for your tutorial are listed below.

It is up to you to decide on which framework to cover in your tutorial.

Cover the main settings used in the game.

Describe each of the main components that make up the game.

Game Logic
Explain important game logic such as the main game loop, important events, etc.

Describe the main elements that a creator may want to customize for their game. Explain how to make the customizations.

  • Publish a written and/or video tutorial on this topic to the Core forums as per the instructions in your application acceptance message.

  • Provide tutorial assets (models, scripts, UI, etc) in Community Content or an editable public game, and include a link within the tutorial. This allows creators to open the final project in Core.

  • Video tutorials must have voice overs in English.

Judging Criteria

  • Your work will be judged based on the Judging Criteria.

  • The above link also contains important information about best practices and other topics.
