Core Update 1.0.291 - Additions and Fixes

Highlights for Version 1.0.291

Welcome to our May 16th Patch Notes. This patch brings small additions, changes, and fixes to the Core editor.

General

  • New: Added new player.ping function. If a player has a ping of 30ms, this function returns 30.

  • Changed: Static Mesh Tri Count in the profiler now includes Shadow Pass(es) as well. This provides a more accurate estimate of the cost of drawing the triangles within a scene.

  • Fixed: “Happy Kart Victory Stingers 01” had an incorrect enum listing. The enum names have been changed to appropriately display the correct audio that is playing.
Update may be required if using the audio asset “Happy Kart Victory Stingers 01.”

  • Fixed: Pressing 'G' to mount/unmount when duration is 0 is now more responsive and you don't get a lag teleport - try it yourself by pressing 'G' in Core world

  • Fixed: Patched a bug where changing player.airControl in OnPlayerJoined would sometimes not work. As a tip: the default value is 0.5 but using 1 will give the players more control in the air.

API

  • Reminder: We have deprecated GetTokensForPlayer() and add a new GetWalletsForPlayer() function giving Creators more control over how they get the NFTs for a specific player. See here for more info. The old API will be removed in a future patch.

As a reminder, our Core Patch cycle has changed from bi-weekly to monthly as we work on implementing new features or major improvements that take more time.

Creators frequently need common things in their projects such as nameplates, sprint abilities, or a jump pad. To make it easier, we have released the Core Academy Essentials which is a curated list of essential components for everyone to drag and drop into their projects. They can be found on CoreAcademy's account on community content, Manticore's GitHub, or through this article.

Around 2010, the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) translated these and other findings into six interconnected pillars that support a healthy body and mind: nutrition, physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management, avoidance of risky substances, and social connection.
